IndiGoReach – Women Empowerment

Livelihood for gender minorities

Our programmes for empowering women and transgender individuals focus on providing skills and resources to boost their incomes and enhance their decision-making power within their households and communities. Each initiative aims to increase participants' income by approximately 20-25% from the baseline, leading to progressive changes in their lives.

Key steps that have been undertaken include.

  • Formation of more than 5200 Self Help Group and Producer Groups & Farmer Producer Company collectives of women farmers and strengthen grassroot institutions

  • Nurturing micro-entrepreneurs through various agricultural and non-agricultural activities. Agricultural enterprises include the establishment of nurseries and bio-resource centres, while non-agricultural ventures cover services such as catering, tailoring, running shops, and cab driving.

1. Enhancing livelihood of women farmers through spice cultivation in Assam & Meghalaya

Women Empowerment

This project transforms the livelihood of women farmers by enhancing spice production of black pepper, turmeric, ginger, and king chilli. Four central nurseries supply high-quality planting materials, while women collectives and local resources ensure sustained productivity. Community enterprises and market linkages boost incomes and preserve local ecology, fostering financial independence and ecological balance.

2. Women led action towards income enhancement through environment restoration in Jharkhand & Chhattisgarh

Women Empowerment

Launched in 2017, our "Women-led Actions Towards Environment Rejuvenation" programme has impacted 75,000 women across the districts of Godda, Hazaribagh, Bokaro and Ramgarh in Jharkhand and Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh. This initiative equips participants with advanced agricultural techniques, access to financial resources, and knowledge of government programmes. These women have become community changemakers, addressing issues at the grassroots level.

We are proud to report that over 60% of the participating households now earn an annual income exceeding 1 lakh. Moreover, the influence of our Lakhpati didis extends beyond economic success as they also stand against social issues like domestic violence, child marriage, and gender discrimination, becoming catalysts of transformation and role models for young women in their communities

3. Livelihood enhancement through sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship development in Maharashtra

Women Empowerment

Launched in 2018 (Phase 1), the project aimed to enhance the livelihoods of 12,000 rural women across four (Pune,Ahmednagar, Nashik and Thane) districts of Maharashtra. Targeting women, including small and marginal farmers, landless laborers, and women-headed households, the program focuses on improving income through sustainable organic farming, value addition of agricultural produce, and micro-enterprise development.

By promoting access to resources, enhancing food security, and reducing migration, the program has demonstrated significant impact in Phase 1. Building on this success, Phase 2 aims to reach an additional 8,000 women, cumulatively impacting 20,000 women, currently, by replicating the successful strategies and expanding the program's reach.

This initiative empowers rural women in Maharashtra by providing them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to achieve financial independence and improve their overall well-being.

4. Enhancing livelihood opportunities and promoting social inclusion for LGBTQIA+ Community in Tamil Nadu

Women Empowerment

As part of our IndiGoReach initiatives, we’ve partnered with NMCT to equip 1,000 participants with in-demand skills to start micro-enterprises, develop business plans, and connect with banks. The project also facilitates access to government welfare programs and engages with authorities to address social, legal, and economic challenges. Beyond financial empowerment, it promotes well-being through workshops on self-care, healthy habits, and healthcare access.
This initiative enables participants to achieve self-sufficiency, financial security, and social inclusion, creating a more equitable future for the transgender community.

5. Promoting employability among youth through skill development in 6 states

Women Empowerment

At IndiGoReach, we are passionate about empowering young minds, fostering skills that will fuel their future and drive our nation's progress. Our Skill Building programs are being specifically designed to empower first job seekers from marginalised communities. Our CSR initiatives will focus on providing these groups with technical and soft skills that foster sustainable livelihoods. By equipping these groups with skills relevant to Travel, Transportation, Logistics and Hospitality (TTLH) we aim to reduce unemployment and promote entrepreneurship across rural and urban India. We have already established 6 new skill centres in Gurgaon, Dehradun, Shillong, Hyderabad, Jodhpur and New Jalpaiguri which will train about 4000 youths in the next 3 years. We are proud to share that the graduates from the centres are being placed across India and abroad.
