About Donyi Polo Airport
Arunachal Pradesh's new airport is officially called Donyi Polo Airport and its IATA code is HGI. It is situated around 15 km to the south of Itanagar. It is a small airport that can handle up to 200 passengers. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will be in charge of it. Their blueprints show Greenfield Airport would be powered entirely by renewable energy sources. It will be equipped with a rainwater harvesting system.
The runway at Donyi Polo Airport is lighted up so that flights may land there even at night. The airport will have both English and the indigenous Nyishi language on its signs. A glass front is included in the airport's architecture. It is the very first airport in the state to be considered a ‘full-service’ or ‘full-fledged’ airport, which means it has everything needed to operate normally.
